Re: What blogging tool/service do you use?
Tue, January 13, 2004 - 1:40 PMI use typepad too... i'd tried blogger, editthispage, pitas... i'd edited HTML from scratch, i'd attempted moveable type. typepad is built on moveable type but is a little easier and dumbed down - just right for me! i've really loved it so far (see the results at pinkrabbitsays.typepad.com ) and would recommend it to anyone. oh - i was a betatester and i have a bunch of 20% lifetime discount codes. let me know if you want one...

Re: What blogging tool/service do you use?
Tue, November 4, 2003 - 12:20 PMMe too, Typepad. I started out on Blogger (www.blogger.com) that was excellent - runs on their server, is free, and easy to get your bearings. Once I'd outgrown that, I switched to Typepad. I'm still waiting on a couple of features they're working on (like sorting my lists alphabetically), but for the most part, I love it. -

Re: What blogging tool/service do you use?
Sat, November 29, 2003 - 9:06 PMFor anyone who uses/has used Blogger, can you tell me if there's an option I can set so that I have more than a single line in the text form where you enter your blog? It really feels claustrophobic to me as a space for writing. -

Thu, December 4, 2003 - 8:40 PMHmmm.. I haven't had this problem there. You might be able to drag the bottom frame down?

Re: What blogging tool/service do you use?
Sat, December 13, 2003 - 8:15 AMActually, I finally figured this out. It's one of those strange idiosyncrasies between Internet Explorer and Opera. It infuriates me when stuff like this happens, because in general, Opera is far superior.

Re: What blogging tool/service do you use?
Tue, November 4, 2003 - 1:03 PMNot so much a service, but a very nice user tool. This is a search engine for blogs and syndicated media. Very slick.

Re: What blogging tool/service do you use?
Sat, November 8, 2003 - 10:29 PMI cooked up my own blogging software in mod_perl+postgresql+apache. It's visible at
blog.dachte.org
I also have an older version lying around somewhere
that was cgi, and a still older one that generated
and uploaded flat files.

Re: What blogging tool/service do you use?
Mon, November 10, 2003 - 6:05 PMi use typepad for their nifty photoblogs - www.typepad.com - and movabletype - www.movabletype.org - using my own domain because i love the plugins, user forums and being able to fully customise it. -

Re: What blogging tool/service do you use?
Sat, November 22, 2003 - 7:04 AMMy blogging setup is homegrown using Linux, Apache, Perl, PHP, and MySQL. Everything is built from scratch in Vi, even down to the RSS feed which is generated on the fly using Perl with XML::RSS. All the pages are generated in OO PHP, and I may actually try to GPL and unleash the classes upon the publik someday.

Re: What blogging tool/service do you use?
Wed, December 31, 2003 - 9:30 AMI'm a junkie. I've had bloggers, diarylands, have a couple of livejournals, installed greymatter and I'm about to install Movable Type. -

Re: What blogging tool/service do you use?
Wed, December 31, 2003 - 7:08 PMYou don't know 'junkie' until you've decided to completely overhaul the software you use in the middle of the night without telling any of the users... That's fun.

Re: What blogging tool/service do you use?
Wed, January 14, 2004 - 9:55 AMI was using LiveJournal. But now switched to iBlog using the iBlog app for Mac OS X only because it intergrates with a .mac account. It's not the best app or service but is easy to use.
Obviously I'm not crazy about the scary URL it produces but it works.
homepage.mac.com/papito1/i...index.html
Anyone else using iBlog? What r your thoughts onn it?

killing flies with a brick
Mon, May 31, 2004 - 1:06 AMi use Drupal - drupal.org. It's probably overkill, but what the hell.
i just like the design - i tried b2 and found it a bit sparse. Mind you, i can't edit .css so that probably didn't help. -
